ATV Towing & Recovery

US Cargo Control offers a number of recovery and tow straps that are generally suitable for the recovery or towing of vehicles less than 2,000 lbs., including ATVs, 4-wheelers, Gators®, Rangers®, snowmobiles, and more.

Ratchet Towing Straps

Our ratchet straps with RTJ cluster hooks work for hauling a variety of vehicles. The RTJ hook combines three hooks, each suited to attaching to a different style of vehicle frame:

  • R-hook: Ford vehicles
  • T-hook: GM and Chrysler vehicles
  • J-hook: Foreign vehicles

The ratcheting mechanism allows for superior tightening control, and the polyester webbing is designed to resist abrasion and UV rays. It also has minimal stretch so the car you are towing won't sling-shot on the road.

Towing straps should not be used for recovery - the limited stretch could cause the strap to break and injure bystanders or damage your vehicle.

ATV Recovery Straps

Made from heavy-duty nylon with reinforced Cordura® eyes, these straps are made in USA and are used to recover stuck vehicles - whether they are stuck in mud, snow, gravel, or any other terrain.

The stretchiness of nylon makes it an ideal choice for recovery - stretching lessens the force applied to both the recovery and stuck vehicle.

Recovery straps should not be used for towing.

Calculating Minimum Capacity Required

Before you can choose the right recovery strap for your business, you will need to calculate your necessary working load limits. You can do this by using the minimum capacity required formula:

Stuck Vehicle Weight + Additional Rolling Resistance + Gradient Resistance

This takes into account not only the vehicle's weight, but also the slope and terrain. Recovering an ATV from the mud, for example, offers more resistance than recovering it from concrete.

Learn more about how to use this formula on our How To Extract a Stuck Vehicle page.

Snatch Strap Shackles

Don't forget a shackle for your UTV recovery strap! The 5/8" screw pin anchor shackle has a working load limit of 3.25 tons and a galvanized finish that helps to protect it from corrosion.
