Torque Drive Load Binders

Designed to reduce fatigue and increase efficiency, torque drive load binders tighten with a cordless power tool - replacing manual ratchet and lever binders with speed, control, and reliability.

At US Cargo Control, we offer the industry-leading Crosby Speedbinders, engineered for truckers, riggers, and transport crews who want safer, faster chain tensioning with less physical strain.

What Is a Torque Drive Load Binder?

A torque binder is an innovative chain binder that uses mechanical torque from a cordless drill to apply tension to chains used in flatbed tie-downs. Unlike traditional ratchet or lever-style binders, torque drive models reduce the risk of injury, improve tensioning accuracy, and significantly cut down on securement time.

Crosby Speedbinders are FMCSA and CVSA compliant when properly used and provide a safer alternative to physical force-based tensioning methods.

Torque vs. Ratchet vs. Lever: What's the Difference?

Torque binders deliver long-term value through efficiency, safety, and reduced worker fatigue.

Feature Torque Drive Binder Ratchet Binder Lever Binder
Tension Method Power tool or manual Manual ratcheting Manual lever
Speed Fastest Moderate Slow
Physical Effort Minimal Moderate High
Safety Highest Moderate Lowest
Upfront Cost Higher Mid-range Lower

Choose the Right Torque Binder

When selecting a torque drive load binder, there are a couple of criteria to keep in mind: you'll want to match the binder size to your chain's size and grade, as well as confirm the working load limits will meet your securement needs. Use our handy chart below to find your match!
