Heavy Equipment Tie Down Chains

For higher working load limit requirements, we offer transport chain in Grade 80, 100, and 120 tie down assembly options. For a clear comparison of chain grades, see our chain grade comparison chart.

Remember, your WLL is only as strong as your weakest link. Be wary of all areas of fault including anchor points on your trailer. For any questions please give us a call at 866-444-9990 and one of our product experts will assist you in finding the right type of transport chain for your application.

Grade 80 Transport Chain

Grade 80 transport chain assemblies and binders offer superior strength and resistance to fatigue and abrasions over traditional grade 70 transport chain. Our grade 80 alloy chain assemblies are made in the USA and manufactured of alloy steel with a 4:1 design factor. While grade 80 chain is generally approved for overhead lifting, transport assemblies are not rated for overhead lifting due to the hook style. All chain and hooks are embossed with grade 80 markings for easy identification. All chain assemblies arrive fully assembled and ready for use.

Grade 100 Transport Chain

Grade 100 chain is 25% stronger than grade 80 chain, allowing for easier handling and increased efficiency. Due to its higher alloy content, grade 100 chain is also more rugged and resistant to fatigue giving the chain a longer life span. Grade 100 chain is quickly becoming a more popular choice for construction, manufacturing, and rigging companies.

While grade 100 chain is generally approved for overhead lifting, transport assemblies are not rated for overhead lifting due to the hook style. Chain and hooks are embossed with grade 100 markings for easy identification. All chain assemblies arrive fully assembled and ready for use.

Grade 120 Transport Chain

Grade 120 tie downs offer the highest strength available in the industry, with 20% more strength than comparable grade 100 chain, and up to 50% more strength than grade 80 chain. This means you can use a smaller and lighter chain to get the job done, without sacrificing working load limits.

In addition to the increased strength, grade 120 chains are also more resistant to abrasion. The patented square link design of grade 120 chain also outperforms lesser grades of chain in fatigue and bending resistance, making it an excellent choice for many heavy-duty tie down applications. The revolutionary square profile also offers increased contact between the surfaces on the links, resulting in a better grip on cargo than traditional round link-style chain. All our grade 120 chain tie downs feature a bright blue powder coating, to provide corrosion resistance and offer quick and easy identification from lesser grade chains. Chains and components are also embossed with appropriate grade 120 markings.

Custom Tie Down Chain Assemblies

Don't see the right hardware configuration or chain length in the grade you need? Custom tie down chains are also available – you can specify grade, size, length, and both end fittings.
