What are 1” Ratchet Straps Used For?  

1 inch straps are versatile light-duty ratchet straps for securing everything from motorcycles on trailers to cargo on a rooftop rack. These types of cargo straps can be used for securing ATVs, snowmobiles, lawnmowers, tree stands, and all different types of cargo securement. You can also use your 1” cargo strap to secure cargo to the back of a pickup truck or trailer. These 1” ratchet straps are made with quality materials, and they are versatile to give you good capability.  

1” Tie Down Strap Materials and End Fittings

These 1” tie downs feature high-quality materials to give you capability and durability over time. Since the length is adjustable, 1" ratchet straps are often a better choice than bungee cords, ropes, cords, or tarp straps. Check out the strap material, end fitting, and ratchet options below.  

Strap Material – These ratchet straps are made with durable polyester webbing. This polyester webbing is a great choice for cargo straps because it has minimal stretch, resists abrasions, absorbs very little water, resists UV rays, and more. These straps are weather-resistant so that they can hold up in tough outdoor conditions. Our 1” tie downs feature webbing in a 4,500 lb. break strength. That means they are capable to take on many of your light-duty applications with ease. You can find our straps in various lengths from a shorter 6’ to a longer 20’ option. 

End Fitting – A variety of available hardware fittings also make the 1" ratchet straps incredibly versatile. You can get s-hook ratchet straps, wire hook tie downs, flat snap hooks, and many others. You can also get endless ratchet straps with no end fittings and self-contained ratchet straps. You can choose the end fitting type based on your specific application and its needs. 

Ratchet – There are a lot of different options when it comes to the ratchet on your tie down strap. We have ratchets with long or short handles, stainless steel ratchets, thumb ratchets, and more. These options can help you get what you need for your cargo securement. The ratcheting mechanism tightens the strap quickly and securely, while a quick lift of the ratchet loosens it for release when ready. 

When it comes to the overall strength and capability of these tie downs, all of our 1” straps are labeled with break strength and working load limit information. The working load limit should not exceed 1/3 of the break strength, and the working load limit is the maximum load amount a ratchet strap should be used for.
