Kick Stops® Cargo Restraint Devices

Kick Stops® is a patented steel restraint device that locks pallets in place inside enclosed trailers, without a single airbag, sheet of cardboard, or piece of lumber bracing. Set it against the pallet, deliver one firm kick, and the load is locked to the wall, the bulkhead, or the next pallet in line, no tools required.

Every Kick Stops device is precision machine-formed from high-grade steel, protected under U.S. Patent #9,868,383, third-party tested, and U.S. DOT compliant. It's made via the Mini Mill process from 70-100% recycled steel scrap, is 100% recyclable at end of life, and is made in the USA.

Facilities that switch to Kick Stops report load and unload times cut in half, along with roughly 48% lower dunnage cost and about 20 fewer minutes of load time per trailer compared to standard dunnage.

Choose Your Trailer Floor Type

Kick Stops comes in two versions, built for how your trailer's floor is constructed.

Wood Floor Cargo Restraint Device

For trailers with a traditional wood or plastic-decked floor. Penetrates the floor only 1/16 of an inch, so there's no damage to the floor or the pallet. Shop the Wood Floor Cargo Restraint Device.

Metal Floor Cargo Restraint Device

For aluminum trailers. Locks directly into the floor's hat channel for a secure hold, no wood or plastic decking needed. Shop the Metal Floor Cargo Restraint Device.

How to Set a Kick Stops Device

Wood floor or metal floor, every Kick Stops device sets the same way.

  1. Place the device against the pallet so its upper face sits flat against the side of the pallet. If the device is angled away from the pallet, it won't hold.
  2. Set it with one firm kick, or with the Kick Stops Installation Tool.
  3. Repeat on the remaining devices, then check each one to confirm it set.

Setting Devices at Volume? Add the Installation Tool

A boot is all a Kick Stops device needs, but crews setting devices trailer after trailer can add the Kick Stops Installation Tool. It's a made-in-the-USA slide hammer with a magnetic head that holds the device against the pallet while you work, and an angled rubber head that delivers the same strike on every set. That means fewer partially set devices and no bending down to hold each one in place. It works with both Wood Floor and Metal Floor devices.
