The Kick Stops® Cargo Restraint Device Installation Tool is a slide hammer built to set Kick Stops devices quickly and the same way every time. Its angled rubber head fits into the angle of the device, and a single pull-and-drive stroke sets it firmly against the pallet. Made in the USA, it works with both Wood Floor and Metal Floor Kick Stops devices.

A Kick Stops device can be kicked into place by foot, but crews running high install volumes use the tool to take the guesswork out of every set. The magnetic head holds the device against the pallet before you strike, so there's no bending down to hold it by hand, and the slide hammer delivers the same force on every device. That means fewer partially set stops and fewer pallets shifting in transit.

How to Install Kick Stops With the Tool

1. Place the device against the pallet by hand, or hold it in place with the tool's magnetic head. The upper face of the device must sit parallel to the side of the pallet. If it's angled, the device won't hold.
2. Put one hand on the upper or lower handle and the other hand on the slide hammer.
3. Set the rubber head into the angle of the device.
4. In one motion, pull the slide hammer up and drive it down into the striking ring.
5. Repeat on the remaining devices, then check each one to confirm it set.

Safe Hand Placement

Keep one hand on a handle and the other on the slide hammer. Never place a hand between the retaining ring and the slide hammer, or between the slide hammer and the striking ring. Those are pinch points.
