Description
1-1/8" 19x7 Rotation-Resistant Wire Rope Cable
This 19x7 bright wire rope is engineered to prevent or reduce rotation while under load. It achieves this by laying the 19 outer strands, each made up of seven wires, in opposing directions so that the torque generated by one layer is counteracted by the other. This design minimizes load spin during vertical lifts and makes the rope well suited for tower crane hoisting, overhead crane lifting, bucket and hoist elevators, marine winching and other applications where controlled rotation is critical. With more than 10 outer strands, this wire rope is considered a Category 2 rotation-resistant rope, offering more flexibility and better spin resistance than 8×19 options.
19x7 Wire Rope Configuration
Our wire rope is made using EIPS-grade steel. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) has a tensile strength approximately 10 % greater than an IPS grade, improving the rope’s breaking strength.
The “19×7” designation refers to the rope’s construction: 19 strands wrapped around the core, each strand comprising seven wires. By laying the inner strands in the opposite direction to the outer strands, the rope counteracts rotation and delivers significant resistance to spin.
Finish & Core
This product has a bright steel finish, meaning it’s uncoated except for an A‑1 petroleum-based lubricant. The lubricant provides basic corrosion and water resistance and reduces friction by coating both internal and external wires.
The independent wire rope core (IWRC) adds support and crush resistance, and is better suited for high-temperature applications. The general operating range spans from –40 °F to 400 °F.
