Tow Dolly Straps & Car Dolly Straps
Tow dolly straps are tire straps for towing a vehicle on a tow dolly. Also called car dolly straps or basket straps, they drape over each front tire, hook to the rear side of the dolly and tighten with the ratchet or winch mounted on the dolly.
These heavy-duty tow dolly tie down straps are made with polyester webbing rated to a 12,000 lb. break strength. Every strap in this collection has a 3,333 lb. working load limit and a 10,000 lb. assembly break strength.

Basket straps can also describe some wheel bonnets, which are built for trailers rather than tow dollies.
How to Use Tow Dolly Straps
Watch our tow dolly strap video, then follow the steps below.
- Measure your tire width and the distance from the dolly connection point behind the tire to the dolly's ratchet or winch (see the measuring guide).
- Drape the strap over the top of the front tire.
- Hook the end fittings to the rear side of the dolly.
- Feed the loose end into the dolly's ratchet or winch and tighten until the strap is snug around the tire.
- Repeat on the other front tire. You need two straps total, one per front tire.
Depending on tire size, the strap may sit slightly forward or rearward on the tire.

How many tow dolly straps do I need?
Two straps per vehicle: one on each of the two front tires on the dolly. Where a 2-pack is offered, it covers both.
What working load limit do I need?
The total working load limit of your straps should equal or exceed the weight of the vehicle you're carrying. Two straps rated at 3,333 lbs. each give a combined 6,666 lbs.
Do tow dolly straps come with a ratchet?
No. They're built to work with the ratchet or winch mounted on your tow dolly. The hooks attach to the rear side of the dolly, and the loose end feeds into the ratchet or winch to tighten the strap around the tire.
Do you have tow dolly straps for large tires?
Yes. The blue extra-large basket straps are made for tires wider than 10". Measure your tire and check each product's diameter range before you buy.
