Van Beest Green Pin® shackles are European-made, high-quality, and meet industry standards. Each Van Beest shackle is marked with steel grade and traceability code. The G-4151 line meets performance requirements of US federal specification RR-C-271 Type IVB Class 2, Grade A.
Chain shackles and D, or dee, shackles are terms that are often used interchangeably, referring to the "D" shape design. A chain shackle is more narrow than an anchor shackle, or bow shackle, and usually has a threaded pin or screw pin close.
The smaller loop on d shackles is designed to take high, in-line loads. For loads requiring larger straps, it is recommended to use anchor shackles
Screw pin shackles are generally used in applications where quick and/or repeated connections and disconnections are necessary, as well as non-permanent applications.
The bow and pin on these Green Pin® chain shackles are high tensile steel, Grade 6, quenched and tempered. They maintain 100% of their original WLL in temperatures from -4°F to 392°F. A hot-dipped galvanized finish provides extra durability against scratches and dings.
