Description

Tapcon+ Heavy Duty Blue Concrete Screw Anchor with Blue Climaseal

The ITW Tapcon+ Heavy-Duty Blue Concrete Screw Anchor is a one-piece hex washer head anchor that drives straight into concrete, no separate washers, nuts, or torquing sequence required. It's built to get you off a wedge anchor install faster while holding just as strong, or stronger. The Tapcon+ line runs Advanced Threadform Technology to cut its own threads directly into the base material, available in 3/8" tapcon screws for lighter-duty attachment and 1/2" tapcon concrete anchors for heavier structural loads. Because there's no expansion stress placed on the hole wall during installation, these anchors can go in closer to edges and tighter to each other than a conventional wedge anchor, and they back out cleanly when a retrofit or service call calls for it. A Climaseal blue coating handles the corrosion side, and the anchor family is evaluated for uncracked, cracked, and seismic concrete applications under ICC-ESR-3699. Order 3/8" or 1/2" tapcon concrete screws in 3", 4", 5", and 6" lengths and you've got one anchor system that covers most everyday concrete fastening work.

Key Features

  • One-piece hex washer head, nothing separate to lose or mismatch on site
  • Advanced Threadform Technology cuts into concrete for a faster drive than traditional wedge anchors
  • Up to 20% more holding power than a wedge anchor of the same diameter
  • No expansion stress on the hole wall, so anchors can sit closer to edges and closer together
  • Heat-treated carbon steel for strength and ductility
  • Climaseal blue coating for added corrosion resistance in tough environments
  • Removable and reusable, a practical fit for retrofit and maintenance jobs
  • ICC-compliant, evaluated for uncracked, cracked, and seismic concrete under ESR-3699

Applications

  • Electrical, low-voltage, and MEP installs, including conduit, boxes, and supports
  • Data center and server room infrastructure mounting
  • Warehouse and industrial fastening, including racking, cable tray, and equipment supports
  • Conveyor and machinery mounting
  • Facility maintenance and retrofit work where a removable anchor keeps future service simple
  • General concrete anchoring for crews standardizing on a single anchor system across jobs

Installation

  1. Drill: Match your drill bit diameter to the anchor diameter you're running, 3/8" bit for 3/8" anchors, 1/2" bit for 1/2" anchors, and drill to the required embedment depth.
  2. Clean: Clear all dust and debris from the hole so the threads can engage properly.
  3. Drive: Drive the anchor straight into the hole with an impact driver or wrench. No pre-assembly, no washers, no torque sequence.

Confirm embedment depth, spacing, and edge distance against ESR-3699 documentation, your project specifications, and local building code before installation. For engineered or load-critical applications, consult a qualified professional or the manufacturer's technical data.
