The Crosby® G2140E is the alloy, higher-capacity line in Crosby's Easy-Loc® family: a bolt type anchor shackle that replaces the standard nut and cotter pin with a tool-less locking collar that engages by hand. Available from 30 to 250 metric tons across nine sizes, the G2140E is built for critical heavy lifts where install and release speed matter as much as capacity.

Every G2140E shackle is forged alloy steel with an alloy bolt, quenched and tempered, meets the performance requirements of Grade 8 shackles, and is individually proof tested to 2 times the Working Load Limit. How the G2140E Easy-Loc System Works

Tool-less Locking Collar

A standard bolt type anchor shackle is secured with a bolt, nut, and cotter pin, plus at least one wrench. The Easy-Loc system replaces the nut and cotter pin with a locking collar that engages on the bolt by hand. Seat the bolt through the shackle eyes, engage the collar, and the connection is secured, with no cotter pin to bend, break, or drop. Release is the same motion in reverse.

Alloy Construction & 4:1 Design Factor

Every size in the G2140E line has a forged alloy steel bow and alloy bolt, quenched and tempered, with a 4:1 design factor. The Working Load Limit is permanently marked on every shackle, and every size is individually proof tested to 2 times the Working Load Limit.

Finish by Size

The 1-1/2" through 2-1/2" sizes have a hot-dip galvanized bow and bolt, with the bolt painted red. The 3" through 4" sizes have a hot-dip galvanized bow and a Dimetcoted® bolt painted red. The 200 and 250 ton bows and pins are Dimetcoted®, with pins painted red.

Comparing Working Load Limits at the Same Pin Size

At every matching pin size, the G2140E carries a higher Working Load Limit than the Crosby® G2130E Easy-Loc line. A 2" pin, for example, is rated 55 tons on the G2140E versus 35 tons on the G2130E. The G2140E also offers sizes the G2130E does not, from 1-1/2" (30 tons) up through 5" (250 tons).

Grade, Design Factor & Proof Testing

The two lines differ in more than capacity. The G2140E meets the performance requirements of Grade 8 shackles with a 4:1 design factor, and every size is individually proof tested. The G2130E is Grade 6 with a 6:1 design factor, and is individually proof tested at 85 tons and above. Match your selection to the required Working Load Limit, not just the pin size.

Shop Replacement Components for G2140E Shackles

A worn or damaged collar or bolt does not mean replacing the whole assembly. Crosby supplies the Easy-Loc bolt and its locking collar under separate stock numbers, so you can replace only the part that is worn.

Easy-Loc Replacement Collars

Available in 1-1/2", 1-3/4"-2", 2-1/2", 3", 3-1/2", and 4" sizes. Crosby uses the same collar stock number on same-size G2130E and G2140E shackles, so one collar covers both lines at a matching pin size. The 1-1/2" collar is specific to the G2140E, since the G2130E line does not offer that size.

Easy-Loc Replacement Bolt Kits

Available in seven G2140E sizes (1-1/2" through 4"), each with the bolt plus its matching locking collar, matched to the parent shackle for correct fitment. Replacement parts for the 4-3/4" (200 ton) and 5" (250 ton) shackles are not currently stocked; contact us and we will source them.

Easy-Loc for In-Service G-2140 Shackles

The Easy-Loc system is also compatible with standard Crosby® G-2140 Alloy Bolt Type Anchor Shackles already in service, so crews can move to tool-less bolt securement without retiring sound shackles. Contact us to confirm the Easy-Loc parts needed for your shackle's size.

Meets or exceeds all requirements of ASME B30.26, including identification, ductility, design factor, proof load, and temperature requirements, and additionally meets impact property and material traceability requirements not addressed by ASME B30.26. Meets the performance requirements of Federal Specification RR-C-271H, Type IVA, Grade B, Class 3, except for those provisions required of the contractor. ABS Type Approval certification in accordance with the 2016 ABS Steel Vessel Rules and the 2016 ABS Guide for Certification of Lifting Appliances is available when requested at time of order; additional charges may apply.

Service Temperature & Impact Rating

Approved for use from -40°F (-40°C) to 400°F (204°C). Quenched and tempered; can meet DNV impact requirements of 31 ft-lb (42 Joules) at -4°F (-20°C).

Can you side-load a Crosby shackle?

Easy-Loc shackles are designed to carry load along their centerline, and angular loading should be avoided wherever possible. Crosby publishes rated-capacity reductions for angular loading that vary by shackle size. Before side-loading any shackle, refer to the current Crosby warning and application instructions supplied with the product, and contact Crosby Engineering for any load applied at an angle beyond their published limits.

Do replacement collars fit both model lines?

Yes, for the 1-3/4" through 4" sizes. Crosby uses the same collar stock number on same-size G2130E and G2140E shackles. The 1-1/2" collar is G2140E-only.
