Description

Domestic 5/8" 6x37 Bright Wire Rope - EIPS IWRC

This USA-made 5/8" bright wire rope is built from Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) and features a 6x37 class strand design engineered for flexibility and fatigue resistance. The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) provides added strength and crush resistance, making this cable a reliable choice for hoisting, winching, suspension, and high-cycle movement systems.

Colored strands may appear in some domestic wire ropes for manufacturer ID or visibility purposes; these color variations do not affect assembly break strength.

Flexible Wire Cable for Repetitive Bending Applications

The 6x36 construction is optimized for repeated bending, offering better fatigue performance than the 6x19 class while sacrificing a bit of abrasion resistance. Its bright finish is uncoated but treated with a petroleum-based lubricant that reduces internal friction and protects against moisture. This wire rope is built to comply with RR-W-410 and ASTM A1023 for strength, consistency, and reliability under stress.

6x37 Wire Rope Configuration

Our wire rope is made using EIPS-grade cable. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) refers to the strength of the wire rope - its tensile strength is around 10% greater than an IPS grade, improving the break strength.

The class of this wire rope is 6x37. These numbers nominally refer to the construction of the wire rope - the number of outer strands around the core and an estimation of the number of wires within each of these outer strands. so for a 6x37 class, the number of outer strands is 6, and the number of wires making up each strand can range from 27-49. The construction of the rope you will be receiving is 6x36 - if you are looking for something different, please call.

Key Features

  • USA-made from EIPS-grade steel for improved tensile strength
  • 6x36 construction offers superior flexibility and bending fatigue resistance
  • Bright finish with petroleum-based lubricant for reduced wear and light corrosion protection
  • IWRC core increases stability under load and resists crushing
  • Built to meet RR-W-410 and ASTM A1023 industry standards
  • Ideal for winching, lifting, suspension, and dynamic rigging

Compatible Accessories for Full System Setup

Enhance your wire rope system with high-performance wire rope fittings and durable rigging hardware including eye bolts and turnbuckles. Use wire rope thimbles to reduce wear on looped ends, and complete the setup with secure Crosby wire rope clips.
