Description

Domestic 5/16" 6x37 Bright Wire Rope - EIPS IWRC

Engineered in the USA from Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS), this 5/16" bright wire rope features a 6x37 class designed for superior flexibility and fatigue resistance. With an Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC), it offers internal support and crush resistance for dependable performance under tension. It's ideal for hoisting, winch lines, suspension systems, and other repetitive-bend applications where movement is frequent and consistent durability is key.

Colored strands may appear in some domestic wire ropes for manufacturer ID or visibility purposes; these color variations do not affect assembly break strength.

Flexible Wire Cable for Winches, Lifting & Moving Applications

The 6x36 construction allows for greater bending without breakage, trading off a bit of abrasion resistance for higher flexibility compared to 6x19 wire ropes. A bright finish treated with petroleum-based lubricant reduces internal friction and adds light moisture protection. This rope complies with RR-W-410 and ASTM A1023 specifications, delivering strength and flexibility for everyday rigging tasks.

6x37 Wire Rope Configuration

Our wire rope is made using EIPS-grade cable. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) refers to the strength of the wire rope - its tensile strength is around 10% greater than an IPS grade, improving the break strength.

The class of this wire rope is 6x37. These numbers nominally refer to the construction of the wire rope - the number of outer strands around the core and an estimation of the number of wires within each of these outer strands. so for a 6x37 class, the number of outer strands is 6, and the number of wires making up each strand can range from 27-49. The construction of the rope you will be receiving is 6x36 - if you are looking for something different, please call.
