Domestic 1/4" 6x37 Bright Wire Rope - EIPS IWRC
This USA-made 1/4" bright wire rope is constructed from Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) and features a 6x37 class design-offering superior flexibility and fatigue resistance for repetitive bending applications. Built with an Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC), this rope provides added stability and crush resistance under load, making it ideal for hoisting, winch lines, suspension setups, and other dynamic rigging tasks.
Colored strands may appear in some domestic wire ropes for manufacturer ID or visibility purposes; these color variations do not affect assembly break strength.Flexible Steel Cable for Hoisting, Suspension & Dynamic Loads
The 6x37 class configuration enhances fatigue resistance and is more flexible than 6x19 alternatives, though it trades off a bit in abrasion resistance. The bright steel finish is uncoated but treated with a petroleum-based lubricant to reduce internal friction and provide basic moisture protection. This cable meets RR-W-410 and ASTM A1023 specifications and is a reliable choice for environments where flexibility and movement are required.
6x37 Wire Rope Configuration
Our wire rope is made using EIPS-grade cable. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) refers to the strength of the wire rope - its tensile strength is around 10% greater than an IPS grade, improving the break strength.
The class of this wire rope is 6x37. These numbers nominally refer to the construction of the wire rope - the number of outer strands around the core and an estimation of the number of wires within each of these outer strands. so for a 6x37 class, the number of outer strands is 6, and the number of wires making up each strand can range from 27-49. The construction of the rope you will be receiving is 6x31 - if you are looking for something different, please call.
