Flatbed Car Hauling Tie Downs
Flatbed car hauling tie downs secure a vehicle to an open deck, either over the tire or around the axle. All you need are four tie downs and anchor points in the right spots. Short on anchor points? The E-track and X-Track rails in this collection can add them.
Our flatbed car tie downs use industrial-grade polyester webbing that has low stretch and resists abrasion, water and UV.
Note: fit depends on your tire size, not just your rim size — see our measuring guide.
Tie Down Options for Flatbeds
- Side mount wheel nets: Wrap the tire and connect to the side of the flatbed. Single-strap nets connect to one anchor point beside the tire; dual-strap nets tighten with two ratchets.
- Wheel bonnets and adjustable wheel nets: Wrap the tire and connect at two points. Our wheel bonnets are designed for trailers with D-rings or punch holes.
- E-track wheel straps: Run over the tire and snap into E-track rails with spring E-fittings.
- Axle straps: Wrap around the axle instead of the tire and connect with a ratchet strap.
Haul a different vehicle every trip? The Side Mount Wheel Net with Ratchet and Flat Hook and the Wheel Strap with E-track Fittings & 3 Rubber Blocks both fit tires up to 36" in diameter, with no minimum size.
Adding Anchor Points to Your Flatbed
No anchor points on your flatbed? Add D-rings, or install horizontal E-track or X-Track rails.
Most end fittings on our wheel tie downs work with D-rings, though connecting them to E-track may require E-track accessories.
Working Load Limit
We recommend tying down all four tires. The combined working load limit (WLL) of your four tie downs should meet or exceed the vehicle's weight.
Federal cargo securement rules (49 CFR 393.128) require cars, light trucks and vans weighing 10,000 lbs. or less to be restrained at the front and rear with at least two tiedowns.
Strap Protection and Replacement Parts
Extend strap life with Cordura sleeve protection for webbing up to 2" wide, or replace worn tread blocks with a rubber block for wheel straps.
