Tow Dolly Tie Down Straps
Make auto securement simple by choosing straps that are specifically designed to work with a tow dolly.
Wheel Strap Working Load Limit
When using a tow dolly, it's recommended to tie down both of the front tires. Keep this in mind when looking at the working load limit of your straps - for most auto tie down applications, you will be using four straps (one for each tire), so they have a higher combined working load limit. For this application, you will only have two straps.
How to Tie Down a Vehicle on a Car Tow Dolly
Using these tie downs is dependent on the style: basket or strap.
Basket Tie Downs
First, drape the wheel net over the vehicle's tire. Secure the two end fittings (either snap hooks or flat hooks) on the tow dolly's rear side. To ensure the strap is securely fitted around the tire, use a trailer-mounted ratchet or winch to adjust the tension.
Adjustable Tow Dolly Tire Straps
For large tires: Insert the horizontal strap through the bottom tire loop. Using an integrated D-ring, tighten the front-to-back strap around the wheel. The loose tail feeds into a trailer-mounted winch or ratchet so you can easily increase the tension.
For smaller tires: Insert the horizontal strap through aloop one level up from the bottom of the tire. Using an integrated D-ring, tighten the front-to-back strap around the wheel. The loose tail feeds into a trailer-mounted winch or ratchet so you can easily increase the tension.
