Tie Down L-Track Cargo Securement
L-track, also known as logistic track or airline track, is a versatile system that creates fully adjustable tie down points in vans, trailers, box trucks, and more. It consists of aluminum anchor rails, fittings, and straps that can be used to secure a range of cargo.
Instead of being locked into fixed anchor locations, L-track allows you to position your tie-down points exactly where you need them. The multiple round openings on the L-track aluminum rails allow for quick attachment of spring fittings. You can create a custom tie-down at any point in the rail.
What is L-Track?
L-track is a low-profile, adjustable cargo track system that's designed with evenly spaced circular slots that accept specialized fittings. These fittings snap into the rail and lock securely in place, creating instant anchor points for straps, shoring beams, and securement hardware.
These anchor rails can be installed on trailers and pickup truck beds; in vans and enclosed trailers; even in utility trailers or vehicles on a farm, construction site, manufacturing facility, etc.
Rail lengths range from 6” to 96” to easily fit a variety of vehicles. They also have pre-drilled holes for quick and easy installation.
How L-Track Works
An L-track system has anchor rails that accept removable fittings to create tie down points along its entire length. This design allows you to create a customized L-track tie down configuration for every load. No wasted space. No fixed tie-down limitations.
- The L-track rail is securely mounted to a structural surface.
- L-track fittings insert into the circular slots.
- The fitting locks into position with a spring-loaded mechanism.
- L-track-compatible straps or tie-down assemblies connect to the fitting.
- Anchor points can be repositioned at any time.

L-Track vs. E-Track
Aluminum L-track is designed with a narrower profile than traditional E-track. This design makes it ideal for use with pickup trucks, vans, and other vehicles where space may be limited.
Logistic Track Types
We offer four different styles so it's easy to find a design that suits your specific needs.
Standard L-Track

Standard L-track is our most popular style of logistic tie-down track, featuring the narrow profile this securement system is known for in a range of popular colors.
Painted L-track is great for coordinating straps, vehicle colors, or logo color schemes, and looks especially sharp when used for ATV tie-downs, snowmobile trailer tie-downs, or dirt bike tie-downs. The painted, powder-coat finish also resists abrasions and protects the aluminum.
2" single point tie-downs are also available in both a round and rectangular style. They are perfect for adding a tie-down point if you don't have room to install a full track.
Our standard L-track is suitable for both surface and flush-mount installations.
Aircraft Style L-Track
Aircraft style L-track also features a square profile, but it is made from a stronger, high-quality grade 6351 aluminum. It's ideal for applications requiring extra strength.
This style of tie-down rail was made popular in the airline industry as a way to secure seats, but the versatility of tie-down tracks makes them an excellent choice for many consumer tie-down applications.
Although this heavy-duty aluminum track is still known by a variety of terms relating to planes (such as airline track tie-downs), it's important to note that not all grades are FAA-certified for use in the airline industry.
Angled L-Track
Angled L-track features sloped edges, making it easier to roll items such as motorcycles, ATVs, utility carts, and other wheeled-objects over the tie-down track.
Designed for surface-mounted applications, these tie down rails are made from grade 6061-T6 aluminum for superior corrosion resistance. They also have pre-drilled holes to simplify installation.
This style is commonly used in the transportation industry as a floor anchor system for wheelchairs; however, ours is designed for recreational and cargo control use only; none of our L-Track is certified for official wheelchair restraint use in buses, vans, and other transport vehicles.
Recessed L-Track
Recessed or flanged L-track is designed for flush-mount installations. This makes it ideal for applications where wheeled items are rolled over the track.
Like angled L-track, this style of adjustable cargo tie-down rail system is popular in the transportation industry for floor anchor systems and wheelchair tie-downs because of the ease of rolling items across it.
It's made from grade 6061-T6 aluminum for excellent corrosion resistance and has pre-drilled holes for easy installation.
L-Track Singles
L-track singles are like rails but with just a single connection point. They can be installed on ATVs, skid loaders, garden tractors, etc. to create a spot for a quick connection of logistic track tie-down straps, bungee cords, rope, and more!
Choosing the Right L-Track Setup
Before selecting your L-track system, consider the following variables:
- Mounting Location - While all L-track has a low-profile, angled L-track and recessed L-track are specifically designed to be easier to rolled wheeled equipment over.
- Load Requirements - Heavier equipment such as motorcycles and machinery may require double stud fittings and higher-rated L-track tie down straps.
- Hardware & Accessories - Choose compatible fittings and rated straps to match your cargo and transport conditions.
Fittings and Accessories
A wide range of L-track accessories help make this system versatile. Most fittings are designed to be placed at any point along the track to create an instant and secure tie-down point.
You can choose from a selection of single stud fittings and double stud fittings, each with a variety of attachments, such as round rings, D-rings, delta links, bolt threads, and more.
Other products such as our flanged end cap and track filler strip make it easy to create a more finished look and allow for even surface installation in your truck or trailer.
L-Track Straps
We stock a large selection of L-track straps which are designed specifically to easily connect to logistic tie-down track rails and L-track fittings.
Some popular options include our 1" Ratchet Strap With S-Hooks and 2" x 12' Yellow E-Track Strap w/ Spring E-Fittings and Double Stud Fittings. Browse our full selection to find the right tie-down straps for your application.
Frequently Asked Questions About L-Track Rails
Q: How does L-Track work?
A: L-track works by providing a mounted rail with evenly spaced anchor slots. Fittings snap into the rail and lock into place, creating adjustable tie-down points. Straps attach to these fittings, allowing cargo to be secured wherever anchor points are needed.
Q: Can L-Track be used in vans or trailers?
A: Yes. L-track is commonly installed in cargo vans, box trucks, enclosed trailers, and toy haulers. Logistics rails can be mounted to floors, walls, or ceilings when properly secured to structural framing.
Q: Is L-Track safe for motorcycles, ATVs, or UTVs?
A: When installed correctly and paired with properly rated L-track tie down straps, anchor rails are widely used to secure motorcycles, ATVs, and UTVs. Proper strap angles and working load limits should always be followed.
Q: Can L-Track be used on walls, floors, or ceilings?
A: Yes. L-track systems are versatile and can be mounted on walls for lateral securement, floors for equipment stabilization, or ceilings for shoring beams and suspended applications.
