Description

1/4" 6x19 Bright Wire Rope - EIPS IWRC - USA-Made Strength

Made in the USA from high-strength Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS), this 1/4" bright wire rope offers a balanced combination of durability and performance. The 6x19 class of wire rope delivers increased abrasion resistance while maintaining moderate flexibility, making it an ideal choice for lifting, winching, hoisting, and structural rigging. The IWRC (Independent Wire Rope Core) enhances stability and minimizes distortion under load.

Colored strands may appear in some domestic wire ropes for manufacturer ID or visibility purposes; these color variations do not affect assembly break strength.

Reliable Steel Cable for Winches, Lifts & Rigging Applications

This bright wire rope features a non-coated steel finish treated with petroleum-based lubricant, offering basic moisture protection and reducing internal friction for long-term wear resistance. The EIPS grade boosts tensile strength by roughly 10% over IPS, giving it the muscle needed for demanding work. Designed to meet or exceed Federal Spec RR-W-410 and ASTM A1023 standards, this rope is a dependable fit for everyday job site use.

6x19 Wire Rope Configuration

Our wire rope is made using EIPS-grade cable. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) refers to the strength of the wire rope - its tensile strength is around 10% greater than an IPS grade, improving the break strength.

The class of this wire rope is 6x19. These numbers nominally refer to the construction of the wire rope - the number of outer strands around the core and an estimation of the number of wires within each of these outer strands. So for a 6x19 class, the number of outer strands is 6, and the number of wires making up each strand ranges from 15-26.

Key Features

  • Manufactured in the USA using high-tensile EIPS-grade steel
  • 6x26 strand design provides solid abrasion resistance and moderate flexibility
  • Bright finish with petroleum lubricant for internal/external protection
  • IWRC core resists crushing and holds shape under load
  • Meets Federal RR-W-410 and ASTM A1023 requirements
  • Ideal for hoisting, structural support, and winch applications
