Description

5/16" 6x19 Bright Wire Rope - EIPS IWRC - USA-Made Performance

Made in the USA from high-strength Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS), this 5/16" bright wire rope offers rugged performance for professional-grade applications. The 6x19 class of wire rope features an Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC), it delivers excellent abrasion resistance and reliable strength-ideal for lifting, hoisting, winching, and structural support jobs where dependable steel cable is critical.

Colored strands may appear in some domestic wire ropes for manufacturer ID or visibility purposes; these color variations do not affect assembly break strength.

Industrial Wire Cable for Lifting, Rigging & Winching

This wire rope features a smooth, uncoated bright steel finish lubricated with petroleum-based petroleum compound to reduce friction and provide basic moisture resistance. The EIPS-grade steel gives it around 10% more tensile strength than standard IPS, helping extend service life under heavy use. With a core that withstands crushing and heat, and construction built to Federal Spec RR-W-410 and ASTM A1023 standards, this cable is a durable fit for demanding environments.

6x19 Wire Rope Configuration

Our wire rope is made using EIPS-grade cable. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) refers to the strength of the wire rope - its tensile strength is around 10% greater than an IPS grade, improving the break strength.

The class of this wire rope is 6x19. These numbers nominally refer to the construction of the wire rope - the number of outer strands around the core and an estimation of the number of wires within each of these outer strands. So for a 6x19 class, the number of outer strands is 6, and the number of wires making up each strand ranges from 15-26.
