Description

1" X 10' Eye & Eye Sentry Lift® HMPE Web Slings

This 1" x 10' Sentry Lift® Eye & Eye sling is built from HMPE (High Modulus Polyethylene) webbing for rigging applications that demand more resistance to cutting and abrasion than standard nylon or polyester webbing can offer. It's furnished with Half Twist No Taper (HT) eyes for easy, repeatable hook and shackle connections, and is rated for choker, vertical, and basket hitch use — see the spec chart above for exact working load limits by size.

Because Sentry Lift® HMPE webbing resists cut and abrasion at the connection points, no additional eye protection is needed for this sling in normal use, unlike most nylon or polyester eye & eye slings, which tend to show their earliest wear right at the eyes.

Sentry Lift® HMPE Construction

The molecular structure of Sentry Lift® HMPE webbing is designed to work similarly to chainmail, distributing force across overlapping fibers so the sling dissipates stress instead of concentrating it at a single point of contact.

Sentry Lift® HMPE Advantages Over Nylon & Polyester Webbing

  • Up to 24x greater abrasion resistance than conventional nylon or polyester webbing
  • Up to 7x higher cut resistance
  • Up to 80% lower elongation under load
  • Tensile strength exceeding 15,000 lbs. per inch of webbing width
  • No additional eye protection needed at the eyes, unlike most nylon or polyester eye & eye slings

Because Sentry Lift® HMPE webbing carries a higher tensile strength than conventional nylon or polyester webbing, the same sling dimensions can be rated for greater capacity, or a smaller, lighter sling can match a comparable working load limit — either way, that can mean real cost savings on a dollars-per-WLL basis plus a longer service life. Each Sentry Lift® sling also carries a permanent, sewn-in tag identifying its working load limits for quick reference during inspection.

Eye & Eye Connection Points

Tapered eyes are automatically furnished on Sentry Lift® Eye & Eye slings 2" wide and over; slings under 2" wide are furnished with Half Twist eyes and no taper unless otherwise specified. This sling supports choker, vertical, and basket hitches.

Browse our sling protection accessories, including cut-resistant sleeves and wear pads, for high-contact points like sharp load edges and corners, or complete your rigging setup with a hoist hook.
