Cable Laid Slings
Cable laid slings are manufactured using a 7x7x7 galvanized wire rope (7 strands of 7x7 cables), they offer more flexibility and resistance to kinking than regular wire rope. Also sometimes known as aircraft cable, its narrow profile and pliability make it ideal for applications that require the rope to bend easily. These flexible wire rope slings are also galvanized to offer protection from corrosion.
Standard cable slings are manufactured in a traditional single-leg design, but other fittings are available to allow for complete customization.
Call our sales team to ask about thimbles, hooks, crescent thimbles, slip-through thimbles, and other options to create the custom steel strand lift sling you need.
Construction and Features
- Our cable laid wire rope is crafted from Extra Improved Plowed Steel (EIPS), featuring an Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) for added resistance to crushing. This construction ensures that the slings can withstand heavy loads while maintaining their structural integrity.
- The slings are lubricated to provide basic corrosion resistance, extending their lifespan even in harsh environments.
- Turnback-eyes are made by bending the rope back to create an eye and secured with a fitted swaged sleeve, making them stronger and more reliable than hand-spliced eyes.
