Ratchet Straps: Anatomy & Types
Ratchet straps are tie-down straps that use a ratcheting mechanism to apply and maintain tension. The ratchet allows you to tighten the strap with less effort, making it easier to secure loads across a variety of applications, including trailers, truck beds, and utility vans.
A ratchet strap assembly consists of two main components: the fixed end and the adjustable end. The fixed end includes the ratchet and a short length of webbing (typically 1') with an end fitting. The adjustable end is the longer section of webbing that feeds through the ratchet to tighten the system. The overall length of a ratchet strap includes both the fixed and adjustable ends and their end fittings.

Reverse Action Ratchet Straps
These ratchet straps tighten in the opposite direction of a traditional ratchet, requiring less effort and strain to tighten. Plus, you can get up to 2x the tension compared to a traditional ratchet strap.

Endless Ratchet Straps

Winch Straps: Anatomy & Types
Winch straps are designed for use on flatbed trailers in conjunction with winch systems to secure heavy cargo. Each strap is made from a single length of webbing, typically with an end fitting (like a hook) attached to one end.
To use, the plain end of the strap is fed into a winch mounted along the side of the trailer. The strap is then pulled over the load and secured on the opposite side using the end fitting. The winch is tightened to apply tension and hold cargo in place.
