Description

Crosby® HR-125 Swivel Hoist Ring

Crosby® HR-125 Swivel Hoist Rings are the industry-standard lifting point for applications where a standard eye bolt isn't safe enough. This 1/2"-13 x 0.70" effective thread projection ring holds 100% of its working load limit from 0° to 90°—something a standard eye bolt cannot do. The bail pivots 180° and the base swivels 360° through a precision bushing, keeping the ring aligned with the direction of force regardless of how the load shifts.

Why Choose Crosby® HR-125 Hoist Rings?

Crosby® is the benchmark for rigging hardware quality. The HR-125 is their industry-standard swivel hoist ring—built to exceed ASME B30.26 requirements and individually proof tested before it leaves the factory.

Premium Alloy Construction

  • Quenched and Tempered Alloy Steel: All load-bearing components are alloy steel, heat treated for enhanced strength, toughness, and fatigue resistance in industrial lifting service.
  • Zinc-Plated Yellow Chromate Finish: Corrosion protection for field conditions and industrial environments.
  • E-Clip Bolt Retention: The bolt is secured with an E-clip on grooved threads, allowing full disassembly for thorough component inspection without losing hardware. Replacement bolt kits sold separately.
  • Multiple Bolt Lengths Available: Short bolts for ferrous workpieces (steel, iron); long bolts for non-ferrous workpieces (aluminum, non-ferrous alloys). Select the correct length for your material type.

Individually Proof Tested

  • 100% Proof Tested to 2‑1/2x WLL: Every HR-125 is individually proof tested to two-and-a-half times its working load limit with certification—not batch sampled, every unit.
  • Fatigue Rated to 20,000 Cycles: Tested at 1‑1/2 times WLL for reliable long-term performance in high-cycle applications.
  • Color-Coded Washer: Red washer identifies UNC (coarse) threads. Working load limit and recommended torque are permanently stamped into the washer for quick field identification and inspection.
  • PIC Code for Material Traceability: Product Identification Code along with WLL and the Crosby® name stamped directly into the hardware for full material traceability.

Meets and Exceeds Industry Standards

ASME B30.26 — and Beyond

The HR-125 meets all requirements of ASME B30.26, including identification, ductility, design factor, proof load, and temperature requirements—and exceeds it in areas the standard does not address, including fatigue life, impact properties, and material traceability.

5:1 Design Factor

Ultimate load is five times the working load limit, providing the rated safety factor throughout the ring's service life.

Proper Use of Crosby® HR-125 Hoist Rings

Torque to Specification

Install to the torque value stamped on the washer for your specific thread size. Torque values assume clean, dry, unlubricated threads—do not apply lubricant to threads unless specifically directed by Crosby®.

Verify Free Movement Before Each Lift

Prior to loading, confirm the bail pivots 180° and swivels 360° freely. Never lift with a restricted or damaged hoist ring.

Inspect Regularly

The E-clip design allows full disassembly for thorough inspection of all components. Check the ring and bolt for wear, deformation, and corrosion. Use only genuine Crosby® replacement parts when any component requires replacement.

Common Applications for Crosby® HR-125 Hoist Rings

  • Machinery, molds, and dies in manufacturing facilities
  • Fabricated steel components, weldments, and assemblies
  • Equipment installation, positioning, and field maintenance
  • Construction and industrial rigging where lift angles vary
  • Any application requiring a certified, angle-rated lifting attachment
