Grade 120 chain is 20% stronger than grade 100 lifting chain and up to 50% stronger than Grade 80 chain, allowing the user to choose a smaller chain size for the job without having to sacrifice working load limits. This results in a chain that’s lighter weight and easier to handle but with all the strength of a bigger chain size.
The patented square link design of grade 120 chain outperforms lesser grades of chain in fatigue and bending resistance. The square profile also provides increased contact between the surfaces on the links, providing better grip compared to round link-style chain.
Grade 120 components feature a blue powder coat finish which provides corrosion-resistance. Along with the embossed 120 or 12 markings, the blue finish makes it easy to identify as Grade 120 alloy. There are no national G120 standards, but this chain does meet the manufacturer's stringent PW standards, along with the NACM & ASTM A973 / 973M standards for grade 100 lifting chain.
