Description

Domestic 1/2" 6x19 Galvanized Wire Rope - EIPS IWRC

This 1/2" galvanized wire rope is made in the USA with Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) and configured in a 6x26 construction for dependable strength and wear resistance. With an Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC), it offers stable performance under load - ideal for hoisting, winch lines, suspension, and general rigging jobs where corrosion resistance matters.

Colored strands may appear in some domestic wire ropes for manufacturer ID or visibility purposes; these color variations do not affect assembly break strength.

Corrosion‑Resistant Galvanized Cable for Rigging, Lifting & Winching

The hot‑dip drawn galvanized finish protects the wire rope from rust and environmental exposure, extending service life compared to bright steel. Because the drawn galvanizing process preserves the rope’s original strength, you get the same load‑handling capability as a bright rope - with added durability for outdoor, marine, or high‑moisture use. Manufactured to meet federal standards under RR‑W‑410 and ASTM A1023, this wire rope is built for reliable, heavy-duty performance.

6x19 Wire Rope Configuration

Our wire rope is made using EIPS-grade cable. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) refers to the strength of the wire rope - its tensile strength is around 10% greater than an IPS grade, improving the break strength.

The class of this wire rope is 6x19. These numbers nominally refer to the construction of the wire rope - the number of outer strands around the core and an estimation of the number of wires within each of these outer strands. So for a 6x19 class, the number of outer strands is 6, and the number of wires making up each strand ranges from 15-26.

Key Features

  • Made in the USA from high‑tensile EIPS-grade steel for robust strength
  • 6x26 construction balances abrasion resistance with load control
  • Hot‑dip drawn galvanized finish offers long-lasting corrosion protection without loss of strength
  • IWRC core improves resistance to crushing and maintains structural integrity under heavy loads
  • Compliant with RR‑W‑410 and ASTM A1023 standards for industrial-grade performance
  • Ideal for winching, hoisting, rigging, suspension cables, and outdoor applications

Compatible Accessories and Full System Setup

For a complete, ready-to-use rigging system, pair this galvanized wire rope with our heavy‑duty wire rope fittings and industrial-grade rigging hardware. Protect looped ends with wire rope thimbles and secure connections using durable Crosby wire rope clips.
