Description

Domestic 1/2" 6x19 Bright Wire Rope - EIPS IWRC

Built in the USA from high-strength Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS), this 1/2" bright wire rope delivers excellent abrasion resistance, reliable strength, and long-term durability. With a 6x26 strand construction and an Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC), it's designed for heavy-duty lifting, hoisting, and structural rigging applications where performance and longevity matter.

Colored strands may appear in some domestic wire ropes for manufacturer ID or visibility purposes; these color variations do not affect assembly break strength.

Industrial-Grade Wire Cable for Lifting, Hoisting & Winching

The 6x19 class of wire rope balances resistance to wear with moderate flexibility, making it an ideal choice for general-purpose fieldwork. The bright finish is uncoated but treated with a petroleum-based lubricant to reduce friction and provide light moisture protection. This rope meets the latest standards under Federal Spec RR-W-410 and ASTM A1023, giving professionals the confidence needed for tough conditions and demanding loads.

6x19 Wire Rope Configuration

Our wire rope is made using EIPS-grade cable. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) refers to the strength of the wire rope - its tensile strength is around 10% greater than an IPS grade, improving the break strength.

The class of this wire rope is 6x19. These numbers nominally refer to the construction of the wire rope - the number of outer strands around the core and an estimation of the number of wires within each of these outer strands. So for a 6x19 class, the number of outer strands is 6, and the number of wires making up each strand ranges from 15-26.

Key Features

  • USA-made using EIPS steel for increased tensile strength and durability
  • 6x26 strand structure provides a blend of flexibility and abrasion resistance
  • Bright finish with petroleum lubricant reduces wear and internal friction
  • IWRC construction resists crushing and holds up under high stress
  • Complies with RR-W-410 and ASTM A1023 specifications
  • Ideal for lifting, winch lines, rigging, and support systems

Compatible Accessories for Full System Setup

For a complete rigging solution, pair this wire rope with our range of wire rope fittings and rigging hardware including turnbuckles and lifting eyes. Minimize rope wear at termination points using wire rope thimbles and secure loops with trusted Crosby wire rope clips. For jobs that demand custom assemblies, we offer custom wire rope configurations built to your exact requirements.
