Jaw to Jaw Turnbuckles
Jaw & jaw turnbuckles are the ideal solution for applications with closed connection points. Designed with clevis-style ends, also known as turnbuckle clevis fittings, they can easily attach to rigging components such as eye bolts or lifting points, and offer a much more secure connection than hook end fittings.
These heavy-duty fasteners are built to safely tighten, brace, and stabilize wire rope, cable, or chain in lifting and rigging applications.
NOTE: Turnbuckles are recommended for straight or in-line pull only.

What is a Jaw & Jaw Turnbuckle?
A jaw and jaw turnbuckle is a rigging device featuring two open clevis ends (jaws) connected to a threaded central body. Each clevis is secured by a removable pin, making it easy to attach to anchor points such as eye bolts, pad eyes, or shackles without bending or threading cables.
This configuration offers more secure and vibration-resistant connections compared to hook turnbuckles, and are better-suited for temporary connections than eye turnbuckles.
Turnbuckle Clevis Applications
The design of jaw to jaw turnbuckles allows them to be widely used in both permanent and temporary tensioning systems:
- Structural support
- Marine rigging
- Flatbed load securement
Clevis Turnbuckle Options
To ensure compatibility with a variety of applications, we offer several different jaw and jaw turnbuckle options.
- Material - Choose from either galvanized or stainless steel turnbuckles based on the needs of your application. The robust hot-dip galvanized finish adds durability and corrosion-resistance, making them well-suited for most applications, but if you are working in a marine or high-moisture environment, go for the stainless steel option.
- Sizing - Our jaw & jaw turnbuckles are available in various sizes to accommodate different situations.
- Jaw Components - Depending on the size of the turnbuckle, the clevis fitting comes fitted with either nuts and bolts or pins and cotters. This ensures a secure and reliable fastening, meeting the demands of your specific requirements
| Turnbuckle Style / Vendor | Jaw Components |
| Crosby | Nuts and bolts up through 5/8", with pins and cotters on larger sizes. |
| Van Beest | Nuts and bolts up through 5/8", with pins and cotters on larger sizes. |
| Budget-Friendly | Nuts and bolts up through 5/8", with nuts, bolts, and cotters on larger sizes. |
Clevis Turnbuckle Industry Compliance
Our galvanized jaw & jaw turnbuckles meet or exceed the performance requirements of ASTM F-1145 (formerly Federal Specification FF-T-791).
Additionally, Crosby turnbuckles meet or exceed all ASME B30.26 requirements.
