Trailer Winch Straps

Tie down winch straps are an easy, safe, fast way to secure your load on flatbeds and trailers. Used in conjunction with winches and winch bars, these straps are a versatile cargo control solution. They can easily be placed exactly where coverage is needed.

While the standard lengths are 27' and 30', we also offer longer and shorter options to ensure you can find one that works for your application.

Truck Strap Construction

Made from industrial-grade polyester webbing, winch straps are abrasion-, UV-, and water-resistant, with corrosion-resistant hardware. Our webbing is heat-sealed on the ends for superior performance, and is thicker than most competitors.

What Sizes Do Winch Straps Come In?

We carry 2"3", and 4" winch straps. Along with WLL, the size of your winch will determine what width you need:

  • 2" straps (3,333 lbs. WLL): Lighter, general-purpose loads
  • 3" straps (5,400 lbs. WLL): Moderate to heavy loads, offering the same working load limit as standard 4" straps without the added bulk.
  • 4" straps (5,400 lbs. to 6,670 lbs. WLL): Heavy loads, providing the best load distribution and heavy-duty BlackLine strap options.

What Type of Hook or End Fitting Should I Choose?

The end fitting you choose depends on your application and your trailer's anchor points. Flat hooks are great for trailer side rails, wire hooks offer flexible attachment options, and chain extensions are ideal for rugged, heavy-duty connections.

Heavy duty hardware options for our truck straps include flat hook, flat hook with defender (4" straps only), wire hook, chain extension, D-ring, grab hook, container hook, and twisted loop.

Color Options

Our straps come in several colors - red, green, blue, black, and yellow - to make it easy to coordinate with your company or vehicle's colors.

Winch Strap Must-Haves: Industry Compliance

All USCC straps are =DOT, CVSA and, WSTDA compliant

All of our winch tie down straps are labeled with break strength and working load limit to meet DOT regulations, CVSA and WSTDA guidelines, and North American Cargo Securement standards.

Our straps have undergone rigorous testing to ensure compliance with these standards and prioritize job safety.

Heavy-Duty Winch Straps

Our heavy-duty trailer winch straps are crafted with BlackLine webbing for unparalleled strength and durability. With a remarkable break strength of 20,000 lbs., these straps are among the strongest on the market, providing an extra layer of security for your valuable cargo. The thicker edging on the webbing enhances durability, making them perfect for securing even the heaviest loads with confidence.

These come in two styles, one with a flat hook and one with a chain extension.

  • The flat hook is 1mm thicker than standard hooks and has a black powder-coat finish for protection from the elements.
  • The chain extension is zinc-plated for superior corrosion-resistance and is designed to fully wrap around your stake pocket. This means the setup can use the full WLL (working load limit) of the stake pocket. It also provides a better hold.

Winch Tie Down Straps FAQ

Q: What is the difference between a winch strap and a ratchet strap?

A: Winch straps are typically used with a winch system on flatbed trailers. They’re tensioned using a winch bar and winch mechanism. Ratchet straps are tensioned using ratcheting mechanism built into the strap itself.

Q: What are winch straps used for?

A: Winch tie down strap straps are primarily used to secure heavy loads like lumber, steel, or equipment on flatbed trailers. Their compatibility with winch systems makes it easy to provide consistent tie down force at regular intervals across the load.

Q: How strong are winch tie down straps?

A: Our winch straps are built from commercial-grade polyester webbing and offer a working load limit of 3,333 lbs. to 6,670 lbs., depending on strap width and material. Our BlackLine straps have the highest working load limit, along with added abrasion resistance.

Q:. Can I use winch straps for enclosed trailers or pickup trucks?

A: No. These straps require a winch system, which is commonly mounted on flatbed trailers. For enclosed trailers or pickups, ratchet straps are a better fit.

Q: What is the safety factor of winch straps?

A: Our winch straps are built with a 3:1 safety factor. This means the break strength is three times the working load limit, providing a strong safety margin for heavy-duty use.
