E-Track Spring Fittings for Ratchet & Cam Straps Explained
E-Track strap fittings are the connection point between your tie-down straps and the E-Track rail. These fittings allow ratchet straps, cam buckle straps, and other accessories to quickly snap into place and create secure anchor points for cargo.
In this guide, we’ll explain what E-Track fittings are, how they work, and how they’re used with ratchet and cam buckle straps.
What Is an E-Track Strap Fitting?
An E-track fitting is a metal connector attached to the end of a strap or accessory that locks into the slots of an E-track rail.
Most E-track straps use a spring-loaded fitting, which includes a trigger mechanism that allows the fittings to snap into place and release easily.
These fittings are designed for use with:
- E-track ratchet straps
- E-track cam buckle straps
- rope tie-offs
- hooks and other accessories

How Do E-Track Fittings Work?
E-track fittings use a spring-loaded mechanism to lock into the rail.
- Pull the trigger to release the locking pin
- Insert the fitting into the rail slot
- Release the trigger to lock it in place.
Once inserted, the fitting creates a secure anchor point for straps or accessories.
Types of E-Track Fittings
There are several types of E-track fittings designed for different applications:
O-Ring and D-Ring Fittings: provide anchor points for hooks and chains.
Rope Tie-off Fittings: Allow rope, cord, or straps without E-fittings to be used with E-track systems.
Specialty Fittings: Include hooks, idler fittings, and tool holders for organization.
