Be aware that

Be aware that the L-track requires very special mounting screws.

You can't just go to the local hardware store and get a bunch of 1/4"-20 flat head machine screws. Why? Because readily available flat head machine screws have an 82 degree counter sink. Whereas, L-track holes have a 100 degree counter sink as commonly used in the aircraft industry. 100 degree counter sink is used when the material being fasten is thin and the application doesn't allow the screw head to protrude above the material surface, such as L-track.

But wait, there's more...

The aircraft industry uses a thread pitch of 28 instead of 20 as typically used in the automotive field. Good luck finding an 1/4-20 flat head machine screw with a 100 degree head longer than 1 1/2" or rivet nuts with 28 threads.

So, what are you supposed to do if your application requires screws longer than the 1 1/2" screws available from US Cargo Control?

Your options include:

1) Change the L-Track hole countersink to 82 degrees to accept commonly available machine screws; however, doing so will decrease the pull load capacity of the L-track.

2) Change your layout such that you can use the 1 1/2" long screws available from US Cargo Control.

3) Give up.

It is disappointing that US Cargo Control doesn't offer L-Track mounting screws of different lengths, but it is what it is....
