Simpson HELI37800A Heli-Tie® 3/8" x 8" Helical Wall Tie - 304 Stainless Steel

The Simpson Strong-Tie HELI37800A Heli-Tie® is a high-performance helical wall tie engineered to anchor building façades to structural backup materials such as concrete block. Manufactured from durable 304 stainless steel, this wall tie offers excellent corrosion resistance and long-term service life, making it ideal for exterior masonry repair and reinforcement applications.

3/8" x 8" Heli-Tie® Helical Wall Tie - Stainless Steel Façade Anchoring

Designed for fast, reliable installation, the helical profile allows the Heli-Tie® to be driven into a predrilled pilot hole using an SDS-Plus rotohammer and the proprietary HELITOOL37A installation tool. This method creates a strong mechanical bond while minimizing disruption to existing masonry surfaces.

Key Features

  • 304 Stainless Steel Construction: Provides excellent corrosion resistance for exterior and long-term use.
  • Helical Design: Enables quick installation with strong mechanical interlock.
  • Façade-to-Backup Anchoring: Designed to secure masonry veneers to structural members.
  • Tool-Driven Installation: Installs with an SDS-Plus rotohammer using the HELITOOL37A.

Common Applications

  • Masonry façade repair and stabilization
  • Anchoring brick or stone veneers to CMU backup walls
  • Building envelope reinforcement
  • Restoration and retrofit masonry projects
  • Residential and commercial exterior wall systems

Installation Tips

  • Drill a pilot hole through the façade and into the backup material to the specified embedment depth plus 1".
  • Use rotation-only mode when drilling into soft masonry or hollow backing materials.
  • Drive the tie with an SDS-Plus rotohammer in hammer mode until countersunk, then patch the façade with a matching masonry hanger.

Heli-Ties are a great product for detached brick facade

I was in the process of painting my house which included removing and replacing trim moulding around the house. After removing the trim boards around the brick facade in the front of the house, I realized I had a problem with the instability of the brick facade where it loose and could easily fall over. Researching solutions I came across this products. I called and explained my situation and was hooked up with the correct product. Needless to say, the brick facade is now secure to the frame of the house. I highly recommend this product. I realize there are some limitations, such as, if you have very old mortar to the point it is brittle this might not be the solution. But in my project these HELI-TIES worked out real well.
