A great general purpose rope with excellent handling, diamond-braided nylon is strong, resistant to abrasions and has elasticity under load so it can absorb shock loads that might break other types of rope. Smooth surface won't twist or unravel and wears well under tough conditions. Nylon does absorb some water and loses about 10-15% of its strength when wet but the effect is minimal; it regains the lost strength when dry. Stands up well to a variety of harsh conditions and won't rot, mildew or react to most alkalis, petroleum products or marine growth. Diamond braid ropes tend to be a little more flat compared to other braided constructions, and makes it good for a variety of applications from anchor and mooring lines to using with pulleys.
