Also sometimes called hemp rope, manila is an all-natural fiber. It offers excellent resistance to abrasion and UV sunlight rays, is softer than most synthetic ropes and holds knots well, so it's a good choice for outdoor use such as landscaping, hand rails, and other general utility uses. Manila rope will absorb water and shrinks about 10 to 15% when wet. Because it's so absorbent, it should be completely dry before being stored away to prevent mold, mildew and degradation. Biodegradable and environmentally friendly.
