Trailer Corner Protectors & V Boards
Corner protectors for shipping are an inexpensive way to protect a variety of cargo - from brick and steel sheeting to drywall and fragile, oddly-shaped items. Vee boards also have the added benefit of protecting your straps, chains, and any tarps or covers used in your tie down application.
Designed to provide a layer between the edge of cargo and the tie down that secures it to the vehicle, flatbed corner protectors distribute the pressure of the tie down across a wider area. This ensures the pressure of securing the entire load is not concentrated in just one area. The more even distribution works to safeguard the cargo and dramatically extend the working life of the strap or chain.
They can also cover sharp corners, protecting your expensive tarps from ripping and abrasions.
For all of your corner protector needs, turn to US Cargo Control. We carry the right corner protector for nearly any type of load you transport.
Plastic Corner Guards for Cargo
Also referred to as v boards or vee boards, these plastic corners are versatile and cost-efficient. Great for protecting cargo such as drywall, insulated steel sheeting, bricks, and anything else that can be easily damaged during transit, plastic corner protectors are lightweight and easy to use.
This design is most commonly used with a ratchet strap or winch strap - the raised edges of each protector ensure the strap stays in place.
Most are made from high-density, crack-resistant polyethylene, a material that is flexible enough to conform to your cargo and still return to its original shape after use for easy storing.
Plastic Edge Protector Styles
While plastic load corner protectors are generally designed with a straight edge, we also offer a model with a rounded center that's ideal for use with tarps. It allows the tarp to curve around the edge rather than be pulled tight. Simply place the protector over the corner of your cargo, lay the tarp over the top, then secure the load. If you're in the market for a quality new tarp, check out our selection of steel and lumber tarps.
Rubber Edge Protectors
Flexible rubber makes an excellent protector for loads where straps must secure cargo that's not square or is oddly-shaped. Our rubber corner protectors are extremely adaptable and designed to allow the webbing strap to loop through for extra security.
Steel Corner Protectors
Our metal edge protectors are excellent for heavy-duty uses involving transport chain for larger or heavier cargo. Designed with a groove, slot, or divot to keep the chain or webbing strap in place, these heavy-duty corner protectors will offer years of use.
We even offer a steel protector with a rubber lining to provide extra protection for your cargo.
If you're adding to your supply of metal corner protectors and also need additional chain, be sure to check out our selection of transport chain and chain binders.
Cardboard Strap Guards
Cardboard load strap protectors help to prevent corner and edge damage, particularly on more fragile loads.
Like the plastic corner style, these flatbed edge protectors are lightweight and easy to use. They're excellent for stabilizing pallet loads and to keep loads from shifting. We sell cardboard corner protectors in bulk for cost-efficiency; they can be reused or recycled.
Custom sizes and single color printing are also available with full pallet quantities. Contact us for details.
Wear Sleeves for Tie Down Straps
CORDURA® cargo strap protectors are made from an extremely durable special purpose nylon fabric that creates a layer of protection for your straps. These tie down strap protectors are compatible with webbing from 1" to 4".
Excellent for winch straps, ratchet straps, and other webbing, these sleeves add resistance to abrasion and cutting. They do not increase the strap's break strength or working load limit.
Flatbed Strap Protector Requirements
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA) requires edge protection at the points of contact that are subject to abrasion, crushing, or cutting.
Cargo Edge Protector Extension Handle
Make placing v boards and strap protectors for trucks simple with an extension handle. It can extend up to 8', so you can place the protectors without having to climb onto the truck.
