SC&RA Specialized Transportation Symposium

SC&RA (Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association) hosted their annual Specialized Transportation Symposium back in late-February to early-March. Hundreds of hauling experts, safety directors, permitting government officials, and operations managers came together to share insights, ideas, products, and solutions for the betterment of the specialized transportation industry. The four-day event is important for discussing and learning about safety, permitting, and overall best practices.

Our teammates Alex Ledger, Jon Wolff, and Brennan Melloy traveled down to sunny Orlando, Florida on behalf of US Cargo Control to meet with and listen to these industry experts, gaining crucial knowledge on how to better position our company as a whole. They also enjoyed meeting with old and new members through the networking sessions, stopping by many of the roughly 60 booths that were present at the event.

Truckload Carriers Association Annual Convention

Subsequently, our US Cargo Control team members Adam Durflinger and Adam Shouse also traveled down to Orlando, Florida to attend the Truckload Carriers Association's (TCA) Annual Convention from March 4-7th. This premier event brings together hundreds of professionals to meet and collaborate with other like-minded people, unveil and showcase new products, and above all, learn more about the state of the general trucking industry.

Shouse mentioned the breakout sessions discussing maintenance and supply chain were some of the most impactful events. "To understand how we compare to other vendors in the industry, and how we can continue to stay ahead with inventory, helps us fulfill our company promise that our customers get what they want, when they need it," he said.

Of course, the event itself provided plenty of opportunity to interact with attendees and talk about US Cargo Control. "We were able to speak with several carriers of various size and hear how their business was going," said Shouse. And who couldn't forget our Grizzly cooler giveaway at our booth!

    NTA Tri-State Safety Summit

Another event the US Cargo Control team attended was the Tri-State Safety Summit hosted by the Nebraska Trucking Association. Hosted in South Sioux City, Nebraska, trucking professionals from Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota - as well as other Midwest-based truck enthusiasts - came together for this two-day event. to discuss the importance of safety within the industry and how to better advocate for these regulations for our truckers. Our representative Adam Durflinger attended the sessions where he listened to state patrol representatives and members of the FMCSA talk about current conditions for truckers and the status of legislation in Washington, DC.

    LKQ Leadership Conference

The LKQ Leadership Conference took place from April 12-15th down in Grapevine, Texas. Our team members Brennan Melloy and Jon Wolff made the trip down, where they were able to meet with some of the different places and leaders purchasing US Cargo Control products from around the country.

"We had a nice turnout for the show and a lot of traffic at our booth throughout the evening," said Melloy. "We were able to add some new locations that haven't ordered from us prior to the event, and we discussed some additional products we would potentially add."

    SC&RA Annual Conference

Shortly after the LKQ Leadership Conference, members from US Cargo Control landed in Carlsbad, California to attend SC&RA's Annual Conference. This event offers attendees with a week-long schedule of meetings, receptions, and plenty of networking opportunities. Many leaders, CEOs, executives, and top members of the industry convene to this annual event to meet with and recognize their peers and their achievements from over the past year.

Many of our teammates, including Alex Ledger, Adam Shouse, Adam Durflinger, and Dustin Ihde, attended this event. For some, this wasn't their first time attending, including Ledger:

"The SC&RA Annual Conference was excellent as always," he said. "I always look forward to re-connecting with friends and customers I've met over the years, and it's a really good opportunity for us to meet and network with other industry professionals."

                • Check out our 2018 blog post from our team's annual conference experience!

A main difference between the Symposium and the Annual Conference is the highly-anticipated Awards and Recognition Dinner to recognize those who've showed outstanding innovation, dedication, and achievement within the industry. This dinner provides a great, celebratory ending to a wonderful convention.
