twin path slings from us cargo control

Twin-Path Slings Now Available Through US Cargo Control

US Cargo Control officially launched their line of Twin-Path Slings as the latest addition to their category of lifting slings. Twin-Path slings provide exceptional performance compared to other types of slings available, offering both higher working load limits, longer product lifespans, and other impressive capabilities.

Learn more about these features below and discover the wonderful benefits of Twin-Path Slings, now available for purchase.

What are Twin-Path Slings?

eye and eye twin path sling from us cargo control

Twin-Path slings are a type of high-performance synthetic lifting sling used in place of steel rigging equipment such as wire rope or chain slings for heavy lifts. Their durable construction consists of two individual K-Spec® load-bearing fiber core yarns covered by a protective Covermax® jacket that all work together to operate as one flexible, high-strength lifting sling. Also known as TPXC slings, these products boast remarkable durability and strength compared to other synthetic sling counterparts, including a 5:1 design factor, that works well for many different projects, including wind turbine installations, offshoring builds, manufacturing, construction, boating, and more.

Benefits

When it comes to choosing Twin-Path Slings, you can't go wrong. They provide plenty of advantages useful for many applications, including:

  • Durable & Long-Lasting: The innovative technology of the load-bearing core yarns makes Twin-Path slings 10x stronger and longer-lasting than comparable-strength steel lifting slings. Using two fiber core yarns helps reduce the chances of sling failure and increases the longevity of their use.

  • Lightweight: While Twin-Path slings are incredibly strong, they only account for 10% of the weight of a steel lifting sling! This ergonomic design reduces the potential of lift-related injuries and makes moving and setting up these slings easier to do.

  • Abrasion-Resistant: The Covermax® outer jacket covering the core yarns consists of a double layer of industrial-strength nylon, providing excellent resistance to cuts and abrasions, as well as UV rays and water damage. These Twin-Path slings are also non-conductive and non-corrosive.

  • Repairable Cover: Subsequently, any damage sustained to the Covermax® jacket can be repaired, so long as there isn't any significant damage to the core yarns themselves. This is a win for those who don't want to keep replacing their lifting slings once they're out of commission.

  • Load-Conforming: Each Twin-Path slings conform to the load and flex to fit the shape of the load itself. Compared to chain and wire rope, this prevents scratching, denting, or other superficial damage to fragile cargo.

  • Check-Fast® Inspections: Lastly, all Twin-Path slings come equipped with a Check-Fast® inspection system. This system works through a third fiber path that includes a weak link to help identify damage to the core fibers, as well as warn the user of sling overloading. When this fiber gives way, it pulls a visual indicator into the sling jacket. NOTE: This component does not replace the need for standard inspection and should be treated as part of the process.

    Types of Twin-Path Slings

US Cargo Control offers four types of high-performance Twin-Path lifting slings - endless, eye and eye, single-path, and high temperature sparkeater slings.

    Endless Twin-Path Slings

The Endless Twin-Path Slings are looped just like other round slings. These super strong, yet ultra-light lifting slings provide exceptional durability and more hitch versatility with the ability to operate in the same hitch types as eye-and-eye slings. The vertical hitch capacities alone range anywhere from 10,000-600,000 lbs.

Part of the reason some people prefer these slings over others is the durability factor. With Endless slings, you can easily rotate the wear points between each use which helps balance out the wear-and-tear on your device and extend its service life.

US Cargo Control offers a variety of endless slings based on different sling widths, as shown below. (NOTE: This is not a comprehensive showing of endless sling offerings.)

    Eye & Eye Twin-Path Slings

eye and eye twin path sling green

Eye & Eye lifting slings consist of the same high-strength core yarns as endless slings. However, instead of the circular design, they contain two eyes on the end that can be used to create different hitches or directly attach to items with ease. This quality makes Eye & Eye slings the premier choice for simple setups and easier manipulation.

These lifting slings also have a sleeve that goes over the body of the sling itself. The sleeve can actually be removed and reinstalled, changing the wear points.

We currently offer seven different varieties of Eye & Eye Twin-Path lifting slings for customers ranging from 3-5" wide and a variety of rated capacities:

    Single-Path Slings

high performance single path sling from twin path

Single-Path roundslings are very similar to the Endless Twin-Path slings shown above. They also offer many of the same benefits, but at a smaller footprint. In fact, these slings contain only one fiber path compared to the two constructed in the options above, making them lighter and easier to store.

When choosing the right sling, the Single-Path varieties offer a unique combination of higher strength and low weight. Below shows a few options available for purchase. (NOTE: This is not a comprehensive selection of the Single-Path lifting slings.)

    High Temperature Sparkeater® Slings

high temperature sparkeater lifting sling from twin path

Lastly, High-Temperature Sparkeater® Slings offer a solution to high temperature environments. These slings are constructed with Aramid core yarns and a Nomex® covering for superior thermal capabilities and enhanced heat-resistance. Sparkeater lifting slings can withstand temperatures up to 300°F (149°C), making them the ideal option for applications involving pyrotechnics or off-shoring petroleum testing.

While the core yarns and covering are different, these lifting slings maintain their low weight and ability to be repaired similarly to the other options. Below are different options that US Cargo Control provides. (NOTE: This is not a comprehensive selection of High Temperature Sparkeater® Lifting Slings.)
