Columbus McKinnon is a trusted manufactured in the trucking and transportation industry. Their ratchet binders are made in the USA and are a popular choice for securing loads to flatbeds with transport chain. Typically used for heavy equipment and other more robust loads, chain binders help get cargo from point A to point B safely.
The forged steel construction offers superior strength, while an orange powder coated finish protects the domestic ratchet load binder from the elements. Designed with gears permanently welded to the barrel for long-lasting quality.
The handle has an open design with self-locking, one-way bolts so it's easy to remove debris, mud, ice, or snow and get back on the road quickly.
Proof tested to 50% of the minimum breaking strength
The primary difference between a ratchet binder and a lever binder is the tensioning method. A ratchet binder a ratcheting mechanism instead of leverage to add tension. This is by far the safer option - they store very little kinetic energy in the handle, reducing recoil and snapback-related injuries. They also allow for more better control over the tension, as you can make more incremental adjustments, and don't require a handle lock.
All of our chain binders are FMCSA / DOT compliant and meet or exceed WSTDA T-6 Recommended Standards. This ensures quick identifications and stress-free inspections.

Great quality product and fast delivery
American made goodness. These are much nicer and so much more smooth in their function compared to the cheaper Chinese binders.
I bought two originally along with some cheaper Chinese binders and quickly realized I should have just spent money on these nicer ones all around. They are pricey but totally worth it in my opinion.
The binders work great and arrived on time.
