Description
Description
Ratchets come in various sizes but 2" ratchet straps are the most common. These 2" ratchets are made of Type 304 Stainless Steel which contains Chromium to prevent rust from accelerating to the core of the material. Chromium allows the stainless steel to form a passive "surface rust" that will not accelerate and therefore make these ratchets more suitable for the marine industry or high moisture applications. The surface can be scratched and the passive layer will form again to protect the core of the material. Don't forget to check our other 2" ratchets & cam buckles:
- 2" Long Wide Handle Ratchet (RAT50)
- 2" Short Wide Handle Ratchet (RAT51)
- 2" Wide Handle Interior Ratchet (RAT53)
- 2" Short Standard Handle Ratchet (RAT54)
Ratchet Use Guidelines
According to the WSTDA (section 4.6.8): "When using web tie downs with a winch or ratchet, a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 wraps of webbing shall be wound on the winch or ratchet mandrel. Excessive wraps of webbing on the mandrel may reduce the working load limit (WLL) of the web tie down and may interfere with proper operation."
