This 2" x 8' ratchet strap is an excellent multi-purpose tie-down strap that has vinyl-coated S-hooks to reduce scratches and marring at the tie-down point. This S hook ratchet strap is a capable tie-down with polyester webbing that is tough and durable. The webbing is weather resistant and abrasion resistant with a break strength of 6,000 lbs. The ratchet has a zinc-plated finish for protection. All of our ratchet straps meet or exceed DOT and WSTDA guidelines and are clearly labeled with both working load limit and break strength information.
Ratchet Use Guidelines
According to the WSTDA (section 4.6.8): "When using web tie downs with a winch or ratchet, a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 wraps of webbing shall be wound on the winch or ratchet mandrel. Excessive wraps of webbing on the mandrel may reduce the working load limit (WLL) of the web tie down and may interfere with proper operation."
