Van Beest Green Pin® shackles are European-made, high-quality, and meet industry standards. Van Beest shackles are marked with the steel grade and a traceability code. The G-4163 line meets performance requirements of US federal specification RR-C-271 Type IVA Class 3, Grade A.
Bolt type shackles are popular in applications that require heavy-duty securement and for long-term or permanent applications. Green Pin® bolt type shackles are also used in situations where the risk of a load sliding on the shackle pin may occur, causing unsafe rotation. These are also referred to as safety anchor shackles, or safety bolts, due to the bolt/nut/cotter pin combination.
The bow and pin on these Green Pin® anchor shackles are high tensile steel, Grade 6, quenched and tempered. They maintain 100% of their original WLL in temperatures from -4°F to 392°F. The hot-dipped galvanized finish provides durability against scratches and dings.
Anchor shackles and bow shackles are terms that are often used interchangeably. The larger loop shape of an anchor shackle reduces its overall strength, as opposed to a chain shackle or dee shackle, however, an anchor shackle has the capability of handling a larger strap.
In addition to our Van Beest shackles, we also offer Crosby® shackles, and a variety of shackles from Chicago Hardware, as well as affordable import options.
