Crosby® builds quality into every turnbuckle, and these turnbuckles bring reliability and consistency required for demanding jobs. Eye & Eye models feature eye end fittings that have been Quenched and Tempered® or normalized to strengthen and harden the steel. Turnbuckle bodies are heat-treated by normalizing. Hot-dip galvanizing on all steel components provides excellent corrosion protection.
Eyes are forged and elongated by design to make for easy attachment in tensioning systems and minimize stress in the eye. For turnbuckle sizes 1/4" through 2-1/2", shackles one size smaller can be threaded through the eye.
Modified UNJ thread on end fittings for improved fatigue properties. The body has UNC threads.
These turnbuckles are clearly marked with the Crosby® logo, size, and Product Identification Code (PIC). PIC is a traceability system to ensure product reliability and accountability from all Crosby® manufacturing facilities. It’s used to record material grade and origin, during verification checks, etc.
Fatigue Rated® designation means these turnbuckles have been tested to a minimum standard of 20,000 cycles at 1-1/2 times the working load limit, and will meet the requirements of the Euronorm standards for fatigue. Proof load is 2-1/2 times the working load limit. Ultimate load is 5 times the working load limit.
NOTE: Recommended for in-line or straight pull applications only.
Meets or exceeds all requirements of ASME B30.26, including identification, ductility, design factor, proof load, and temperature requirements. Also meets other critical performance requirements, including fatigue life, impact properties, and material traceability, not addressed by ASME B30.26.
Meets the performance requirements of Federal Specifications FF-T-791b, Type 1, Form 1, Class 4, and ASTM F-1145, except for those provisions required of the contractor.
