Extremely durable polyester is flexible and resistant to abrasion and chemicals. It has very little elongation, making it useful for applications where a stretchy rope would be dangerous. Polyester is unaffected by water so it retains its strength when wet and is resistant to mildew, rot, and marine growth. It also stands up well to UV rays and won't weaken or yellow with repeated sun exposure. Lock-stitch construction creates a smooth, even surface that knots well but can be difficult to splice. Solid braid polyester rope is a great multi-purpose rope that's good for a variety of uses such as rigging, towing, and guide ropes.
