This 2" x 12’ ratchet strap is great for a variety of applications, but it can be known as an automotive ratchet strap or car strap because it can be a useful option for tying down vehicles to flatbeds or trailers. This strap is fitted with locking snap hooks that clip into your anchor point. This flat snap hook ratchet strap offers you a lot of capability, but we also offer ratchet straps with twisted snap hooks. All of our ratchet strap tie downs and components meets or exceed both WSTDA and DOT guidelines; sewn-in tag lists working load limit information.
Ratchet Use Guidelines
According to the WSTDA (section 4.6.8): "When using web tie downs with a winch or ratchet, a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 wraps of webbing shall be wound on the winch or ratchet mandrel. Excessive wraps of webbing on the mandrel may reduce the working load limit (WLL) of the web tie down and may interfere with proper operation."
Compliant with Industry Standards
This tie-down strap is tagged and stenciled with the working load limit to meet FMCSA and DOT regulations, CVSA and WSTDA guidelines, and North American Cargo Securement standards.
