Nylon webbing is rated at 7000 & 9800 lbs per inch of width which makes nylon web a strong, yet inexpensive, choice for lifting slings. Able to withstand temperatures up to 194 degrees Fahrenheit (90 deg Celsius), it is durable under extreme circumstances. Nylon webbing has a natural ability to stretch approximately 5-7% at rated capacity and approximately 30-33% at breaking strength. Nylon sling webbing also has the ability to retract a good percentage of the stretch which is why this sling web is very popular for recovery straps and lifting slings. The "snap-back" helps recover vehicles stuck in mud, sand and snow.
