A wire rope clip, sometimes called wire rope clamps,
are used to clamp the loose end of wire rope after it has been looped
back to form an eye. The wire rope clip consists of a u-bolt and has a
saddle that is secured by two nuts. Wire rope assemblies usually need
at least 2 wire rope clips to properly terminate the end. The saddle
and nuts of the clamp should be on the opposite end of the terminated
end (or dead end) of the cable when forming the loop. Thus the popular
saying throughout the rigging industry "Never saddle a dead horse".
