Wire Rope and wire rope assemblies are sometimes made of galvanized wire rope for higher moisture areas to help resist corrosion. Stainless steel wire rope is also used when wire rope is subject to marine or extreme moisture rigging. Galvanized wire rope is available in the 6x19 and 6x37 classes and can be bought by the lineal foot or larger coils at phenomenal discounts. Galvanized steel rope comes with IWRC (Independent Wire Rope Core) for added strength by adding support to the outer strands. IWRC wire rope, or wire core rope, resists crushing, stretch and have a higher resistance to heat. Wire rope and rigging wire come in many different, shapes, sizes, and configurations.
