Crosby® Hook & Hook Galvanized Turnbuckles - HG-223
Designed to deliver exceptional durability, these hook-style turnbuckles can withstand abusive field conditions because of their improved impact and fatigue characteristics. End fittings have a modified UNJ thread and are Quenched and Tempered®
or normalized using Crosby®’s perfected methods for achieving superior toughness. Bodies come with UNC threads and are heat-treated by normalizing. Heat treatment promotes uniformity of performance, maximizes the properties of the steel, and ensures each turnbuckle will meet its rated strength.
All components have a hot-dip galvanized coating that forms a protective layer on the steel and resists corrosion. Hooks are forged with a greater cross-sectional area that results in a stronger hook with better fatigue properties.
Crosby® forges into each turnbuckle the company logo, size, and Product Identification Code. The PIC is actively used by its manufacturing facilities to control material and processes.
This turnbuckle is Fatigue Rated®
, as it has proven to provide improved fatigue life, or resistance, in actual use. Tested to a minimum standard of 20,000 cycles at 1-1/2 times the working load limit. Meets the requirements of the Euronorm standards for fatigue.
Proof load is 2-1/2 times the working load limit. Ultimate load is 5 times the working load limit.
NOTE: These turnbuckles are recommended for straight or in-line pull only.
Meets or exceeds all requirements of ASME B30.26 including identification, ductility, design factor, proof load, and temperature requirements. Also meets other critical performance requirements, including fatigue life, impact properties and material traceability, not addressed by ASME B30.26.
Meets the performance requirements of Federal Specifications FF-T-791b, Type 1, Form 1, Class 5, and ASTM F-1145, except for those provisions required of the contractor.
