Our rigging products generally come in hot dipped galvanized steel or type 316 stainless steel. Both are excellent for harsh weather extremes, but type 316 stainless steel is considered “marine grade” making it ideal for sailboat rigging and yacht applications and other high moisture conditions or high chloride environments such as mooring, that require marine hardware.
In addition to wholesale rigging equipment and heavy lifting slings for very large boats and ships and other marine applications, rigging products are used in various jobs utilizing nylon slings, polyester round slings, wire rope slings, and chain slings, and any jobs involving crane rigging equipment, dredging, logging and excavating. Rigging straps / marine straps are also popular items for rigging applications.
Our rigging supply hardware products include:
Guy Wire & Fittings
Guying means to steady, secure, or guide with a cord, cable, or rope, so a “guyed” structure can be a tower, antenna, or other utility-type of structure.
It’s created by having one wire cable end attached to the structure, with the other end anchored to the ground or another anchor point away from the base of the structure, creating a diagonal line.
The wire cable’s tension created from the wire type and angle of the securement combines with the structure’s compressional strength to make it secure. The allows the structure to withstand the weight of the structure, as well as wind. Guy wires are generally placed in a set of three or four at equal angles around the structure so the tension in each wire complements the others.
Certain types of towers and antennas require specialized conductive guy wire so the wire doesn’t disturb any radiation patterns from the tower.
Our selection of professional equipment for guyed structures includes Guy Wire, Big Grip Dead Ends, End Sleeve Clips, Wire Rope Clips, Wire Rope Thimbles, Shackles, and Turnbuckles.
Guy wire installation should be done only by experienced professionals. For information visit The National Association of Tower Erectors.
Lifting Beams & Spreader Bars
Lifting beams and spreader bars (also known in the industry as Spreader Beams) are used with a crane to safely and efficiently lift lift heavy loads. Both are called below-the-hook lifting devices since they attach to the load (or loads) under the crane’s hook. All of our lifting beams and spreader bars are made in the USA and manufactured to exceed all ASME B30.20 and OSHA regulations and are shipped with certification paperwork. All are also proof loaded per OSHA requirements and RFID Tracking Chip equipped for logistics management.
Metal rigging shackles can be used as a link to connect equipment in various hoisting, pulling and lifting applications. Designed in a U shape with lock opening, shackles are extremely versatile and are often used to connect wire rope, chain, nylon or poly rope, or lifting sling hardware products. US Cargo Control sells a wide variety of shackles in our marine rigging supplies & hardware line, in different sizes and fabrications, including Anchor Shackles, Bow Shackles, Chain Shackles, D Shackles, and Snap Shackles. The type of pin in a shackle can also make a difference in working applications, and include bolt pin type, round pin type, and screw pin.
Our wide selection of turnbuckles includes both galvanized and stainless steel varieties, both of which are ideal for weather resistance. Different fittings will serve various purposes and we offer a range of marine rigging hardware items in our turnbuckles category. We also carry different sizes of each style.
Blocks & Pulleys
Blocks and pulleys are common lifting mechanisms in the rigging industry as they can reduce the amount of force required to lift an abnormally heavy object. We offer a full line of finished and stainless steel snatch blocks, square blocks, single and double pulleys, swivel block and many more lifting and rigging hardware supply products that can be used with rope and shock cord.
Eye bolts are essential as a riggers supply as they are ideal for providing an anchor point for many rigging applications. US Cargo Control carries a variety of eye bolts, including straight eyebolts for straight line applications and shoulder eye bolts for any angular connections.
Capacity and fabrication are the most important indicators of hooks for rigging. Design of the hook is also important. Our selection includes hooks with latches, clevis hooks, eye grab, swivel eye, fixed eye, self locking hooks and snap hooks.
Stainless Steel Nuts
Stainless steel rigging hardware nuts come in a wide variety of styles and sizes for different rigging applications, such as lifting eye nuts, dome nuts, hex nuts, wing nuts, and ball ends. All of our stainless steel nuts (except wing nuts) are type 316 stainless steel, which is considered “marine grade” stainless steel and ideal for marine applications such as sailboat rigging. Hardware of 316 stainless steel type generally is available in both LH and RH thread.
Wire Rope & Accessories (clips & thimbles & sleeves/stops)
Wire rope comes in a variety of styles and strengths. US Cargo Control offers bright wire rope, stainless steel rope and galvanized wire rope, all in 6x19 and 6x37 configurations. Common wire rope accessories for rigging include wire rope clips (for clamping loose ends of wire rope), wire rope thimbles (which protect the eye of a wire rope), and sleeves and stops to terminate the ends of wire cable and rope. In addition to wire rope and wire rope accessories, we also carry a full line of nylon strap and nylon strap hardware.
