If you need to tie down a motorcycle you've recently purchase or sold, take one in for repair or you travel with your bike often, it's handy to have motorcycle tie downs. The tie down procedure is similar for trailers and truck beds, you need to have fixed motorcycle tie down anchors- points on the transport vehicle for tie downs-motorcycle straps to anchor the bike, and either a ratchet or cam buckle system to tighten the straps securely.
The best motorcycle tie downs allow you to accommodate different bikes in the same truck or trailer with a system like E track. Motorcycle transport may not be the only way to use your trailer and using e-track, motorcycle gear can be swapped out to transport other vehicles or even moving.

Tying down at two points on the front and one on each side is adequate for most dirt bikes and small street motorcycles. One person can secure a motorcycle in a trailer alone with a motorcycle tie down system and e-track installed in the trailer.
Motorcycle Tie Down How To - 4 Point Motorcycle Tie Down:
Prepare your motorcycle trailer tie downs: attach your ratchet straps to the appropriate anchor point tie down positions on the trailer. Place back motorcycle tie down straps on the trailer bed in a position where you can reach them from the seat of the motorcycle. Note: when loading two motorcycles where the handlebars or fairings may conflict; try reversing one of the bike's position on the trailer.
Load your motorcycle on the trailer: Start and warm up the motorcycle then ride or walk it onto the trailer. Ensure that the bike is lined up straight between your motorcycle tiedowns.
Attach the side/rear motorcycle hold downs: While sitting on the bike attach the rear tie down straps and tighten until the bike is firmly in place.
Attach the front motorcycle tie downs: Make sure the motorcycle is balanced and get off the bike and attach the front tie down straps so that the bike is firmly in place.
Take a step back and look at your bike: when you are finished the motorcycle should be completely upright and straight with direct lines from the motorcycle trailer straps to anchor points.
Test your motorcycle trailer tie down work: shaking the bike should only cause trailer motion and very little bike movement.
If the motorcycle moves you should check each motorcycle tiedown for looseness - it's possible that tightening one ratchet created slack in one of the other motorcycle trailer tie-downs if the bike wasn't perfectly straight.
