We’ve created our boat, canoe, surfboard/paddle board, and kayak tie down straps specifically to meet the needs of the avid recreational water sports fan.
Manufactured with a polyester webbing that offers a break strength of 4.5K, but in an easy-to-handle 1" width. We’ve designed the straps with an added 2" wide layer of webbing under the buckles, to protect kayak and canoe surfaces from contact with the metal. All of our kayak, canoe, and boat tie downs with hooks feature a vinyl-coated hook, to further protect surfaces from scratches and dings. The more narrow width also makes them excellent for use as surfboard straps, or to secure paddle boards.
For securing boats, we’ve created transom boat straps, which are retractable ratchet straps. They feature a quick release button to automatically retract the extra webbing to keep it from flapping or becoming entangled in the trailer during transport. They also feature vinyl-covered hooks to protect painted surfaces from dings and scratches.
The polyester fabrication is excellent for outdoor water uses because it won’t absorb water, which means it is resistant to mold, mildew, and rotting. Polyester also has minimal stretch and won’t degrade with the sun’s UV rays, or when exposed to most gases and oils.
Straps are fitted with cam buckles to tighten the webbing. Cam buckles are a better choice over ratchet assemblies as they can’t be overtightened as a ratchet strap can due to the ratcheting action. A cam buckle strap is a better option over a ratchet strap when securing more fragile or delicate gear like kayak and canoes.
